THE STORY BEHIND OUR CHOICE

Ok, fast forward a bit. You're going to a real opera or maybe you're going to see The Cure if and when they come to North American for a reunion tour (please-oh-please!). You get tickets but they suck and you want to see everything but you also want to get dressed up really nice because this is a very special occasion and you need to be dressed accordingly. That's where these come in -- they actually really work and are so beautiful and will serve as another piece of jewelry for your look. They'll also look stunning as a display piece anywhere in your home.

The Lemaire FT opera glasses are compact binoculars designed specifically for opera performances. With a zoom lens feature, these glasses offer a close-up view of the stage without the need for large, cumbersome binoculars. The sleek design and high-quality brand of Lemaire make these opera glasses a stylish and practical accessory for opera enthusiasts.

Charming pair of gilt bronze enameled opera glasses made in the 19th century by the French manufacturer Lemaire of Paris and then imported by Andrew J. Lloyd Company, opticians in Boston. The binoculars depict two sets of couples lounging on benches, and have mother-of-pearl on the center focus as well as the eye cups, which aslo bear the names of the manufacturer and retailer. The bridge is marked "Made in France, 519" and stamped with a bee, the company's logo. There is some wear consistent with the age of the piece as shown in the pictures, but the glasses are in overall great condition. The opera glasses measure 4 inches wide by 1.5 inches deep by 2.75 inches tall.
